The move reflects Solid State’s tremendous growth, and the company’s continuing commitment to creating jobs and contributing to the Boise economy.
On Thursday, April 15, CEO Gregg Tahmisian was joined by local Solid State employees, and Boise Chamber of Commerce representatives, including Director of Membership Sandy Anderson and the Chamber Ambassador Committee, in celebration of the company’s first anniversary, and the opening of their new offices in the heart of downtown Boise. The event represents an exciting new chapter for the company, and for the greater Boise community.
“This is a good time for Solid State and for Boise,” said CEO Gregg Tahmisian. “There’s a lot of need here for jobs, especially during the pandemic, and we’re expanding. We’re adding developers, operations folks, technical people, HR and support staff. And there are a lot of really skillful people right here in the valley.”
The event took place in the company’s new offices on the 10th floor of the iconic One Capital Center building on Main Street, just blocks from the state capital. Like the Center itself, the offices provide a sleek, state-of-the-art working environment, featuring flexible space and cutting-edge environmental efficiency and design. And, of course, the views of downtown Boise and the surrounding landscape are breathtaking.
Solid State Operations builds and hosts front-line solutions for government agencies. The company’s mission is to revolutionize government software by deploying and operating a multi-vendor platform across multiple verticals of state and federal government. The company has begun to transform the way that Departments of Labor provide essential services to unemployed workers, their employers and the state agencies that serve them.
The Solid State Operations story began in 2013 when a group of inventive Unemployment Insurance and Software Engineer experts got together with a collective goal: to bring the best Unemployment Insurance solutions to State Workforce Agencies across the nation. They successfully modernized the Unemployment Insurance platform for the state of Idaho in 2014, and the trajectory has continued with cloud-computing and software-as-a-service options which have delivered billions of dollars of benefits payments, and hundreds of millions of dollars saved for state governments and taxpayers.
Solid State Operations has grown to employ over 200 people, and continues to grow almost daily. Though the company is headquartered in Boise, it hosts support services and contact centers throughout the country.
“It’s an honor and a pleasure to welcome you to this ceremony,” Mr. Tahmisian told Chamber guests and staff on Thursday. “We love Boise. Some of us are local, some of us are transplants. This is a special group of people and a special moment for all of us.”
In 2021 the company continues to respond to changes in laws, requirements, and administrations amid the evolving pandemic situation and its economic impacts. As a software and services provider, Solid State Operations looks forward to partnering with more state workforce agencies and best-of-breed vendor allies to offer fully integrated, accessible programs that meet all state and federal requirements.
